Contraception and Sexual Health Services
The service is totally confidential, services include:
- Sexual health information
- Various contraception methods including long acting reversible contraception (hormone implants and IUDs). However if you require general information regarding the contraceptive pill or need a pill check please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse
- Chlamydia screening
- HIV testing and screening
- Treatment for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)

Please make an appointment with the Practice Nurse if you require general information, or for your regular pill check.
If you need urgent advice regarding lack of contraceptive cover please telephone the surgery and speak to a member of the reception team.
Free Condoms
Free condoms are available to patients aged 16-24. You will need to see a nurse or doctor for an appointment first. When you have done this you can just drop in, ask at reception and you will be provided with condoms.
Chlamydia Screening
Chlamydia screening is available from the surgery.
Simply ask at reception for a kit. It is a completely confidential service where you can send a urine sample in the envelope provided and receive the result via your mobile phone.
Smoking, Drugs and Alcohol
Stop Smoking
Evidence shows that you are more likely to stop smoking for good if you have support.
The surgery offers smoking cessation advice. All you need to do is to make an appointment with the Health Care Assistant at our Queens Park surgery or the Practice Nurse at our Honeysuckle Way surgery. They will offer you support and advice which will be followed up 2 weekly with a 15 minute appointment. This may include nicotine replacement treatment.

Drugs and Alcohol
If you have drug issues, there will always be a GP or nurse available to talk to.
Please make an appointment, and they can then refer you for the appropriate help.
